CARLOS CALDERÓN
EMMY AWARD-WINNING TALENT, TV HOST, ANCHOR, CREATIVE PRODUCER, VOICEOVER, EXPERT IN CREATIVE COMMUNICATION
Carlos Calderón is a proud American citizen, originally born in Mexico City. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, he earned a degree in Architecture with a major in Architectural Photography from Universidad Iberoamericana. While seeking work as a photographer during his studies, a talent agent was more impressed by his presentation than the photographs themselves, leading to an unexpected offer of representation. After appearing in dozens of commercials, he won an audition to host “The Dating Game” in Spanish in Hollywood, California, prompting a move from Mexico to Los Angeles. This opportunity eventually led him to Miami, where he became involved in a wide range of productions and conducted hundreds of interviews with notable figures, including Vice President Kamala Harris, members of Congress, CEOs, and prominent entertainment and sports personalities.
Carlos has built a distinguished reputation as a host, correspondent, and creative producer, with extensive experience in multimedia, broadcasting, and live presentations. For five years, he co-hosted “Despierta America”, Univision’s top-rated morning show, which airs daily for four hours nationwide. His work has earned three national EMMY Awards—two for hosting “Despierta America” and one for Outstanding Talent on “El Gordo y la Flaca” while covering one of the several World Cups he reported on for Univision, where he spent over two decades as a reporter, co-host (substituting for Raul “El Gordo” de Molina), and Creative Producer.
In addition to television, Carlos hosted the nationally syndicated radio show “El Colmillo” for five years and led the first live cable show in Spanish, “Acceso Maximo”, to great success. He also presented Univision’s first show to air on Facebook, among many other milestone productions, working with and directing talented teams worldwide. Recently, he joined Telemundo’s morning show “Hoy Día” as one of the hosts, much to the delight of viewers and the Telemundo family.
